Patricia Vietheer
Dr Patricia Vietheer has 25 years of experience in the life sciences industry mainly in commercialisation of early-stage technologies and turning ideas and discoveries into product development. She has worked in a range of roles in academia, start-up companies, medtech and biotech across a broad range of disease areas and technology types. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honours from University of Queensland and a PhD in Microbiology at Monash University. She has also completed an MBA majoring in Strategy & Planning at Deakin University. In 2015, Patricia completed the Molecules to Medicine Internship on Commercialization. In addition, she has completed NATA certification in Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), ISO17025 and Quality management in the laboratory.
At Biointelect, Patricia leads the R&D Strategy & Planning team, supporting a wide range of clients from universities, research institutions, government, start-up companies, biotech, medtech and pharma companies. She has led numerous projects at Biointelect in commercialisation strategy, business case development, funding strategies, product development planning and execution for key clients. She is particularly passionate about helping clients streamline their path to market using strategic project management techniques and thus commercialising their novel discoveries.
Patricia has been a recipient of multiple awards including the NHMRC Dora Lush BioMedical Award, Australian Defence Force Prince of Wales Award and the Australian Centre for HIV & Hepatitis Virology Young Investigator’s Award. She has made substantial contribution to numerous granted patents, co-authored multiple scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at numerous national and international conferences.
