Dr Hassan is currently serving as Acting First Assistant Secretary of the Health Security and Immunisation Division. The Division is responsible for leading national policies and programs that support the prevention, preparedness and response to health threats and emergencies. In her substantive role as Assistant Secretary, Dr Hassan leads work to strengthen health system resilience, oversee preparedness through the National Medical Stockpile, and coordinate strategic health protection engagement through key national forums, including the Australian Health Protection Committee and the Australian Centre for Disease Control.
